Crazy Brother In Law

My bother in law, Bill Ekse, is crazy. In an effort to raise money for the The Leukemia & Lymphoma SocietyVisit, Bill is setting the Gunness World Record for “The Most Vertical Feet Climbed by an Individual on a Step Mill in a 24-hour Period.” Visit the fundraising page for details.

I’ll be there the cheer him on, maybe stuffing Powerbar Gels down his face.

In his own words:

Hello,

My name is Bill Ekse I work for fire district 7. I am raising money to help find a cure and reduce the negative impact on patients & families with leukemia and lymphoma. In 1998, I lost a good friend, Chris Pettersen, who was the kind of person you look up to & trust and could lean on. On March 18th, I will be setting the Guinness World Record for “ The Most Vertical Feet Climbed by an Individual on a Step Mill in a 24-hour Period”. This effort will be done in true Chris Pettersen form (feet first without looking). I hope to get my family, friends and the community involved in this as I try to raise awareness and raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Today I’m asking for your help in making this a true success. This really has little to do with the record and everything to do with the families affected by cancer. That’s why I hate this illness. Not only does it send huge ripples of pain through families, but it can also cause great emotional and financial scars. A cure or improved treatments could greatly reduce or even prevent these troubles.

There are three ways you can join me in this effort:

Attend the event
Contribute financially toward the fundraising effort. You can contribute through my fundraising site, http://www.active.com/donate/ff06/scfd7 or on the day of the event through raffle drawings.
Help spread the word and send this email to others.

I am looking forward to this challenge, and also in making a difference in the search for a cure.

Thanks, Billy Ekse
