Today is my last day at Jobster. I am taking two weeks off and starting at Snapvine with a bunch of ex-Avogadro cronies on April 16.
Leaving Jobster is very bitter sweet for me. I worked with a bunch of bright, motivated people and learned a ton. More importantly, I had a blast. Some choice memories:
- Consistently dominating Ray and Patrick in ping pong doubles with Scott (who played through potentially career-ending injuries).
- Being accused of intentionally breaking into the supply closet to find batteries for the GameCube controllers. The truth is I don’t know my own strength and didn’t immediately realize the closet was locked.
- Working with Marty on seven (or something like that) iterations of the privacy and contactability model.
- The occasional nap in the Lazy Boy I brought to the office. I even tried to use it as my primary desk chair.
- The rollercoaster ride that is expected with a startup. Yay, we can post jobs to craigslist! D’oh, they cut us off.
- Writing Jobster’s e-commerce services. It is difficult to leave before ecomm is fully baked, but I leave it in capable hands.
Anyway, Jobster was a great experience, and I know I’ll get the chance to work with the Jobster people again in the not too distant future. The startup scene in Seattle is a small world.
I’ll move this blog to jolma.org once my account on site5 is set up.
